Blueberry Hemp Seed Green Smoothie

Blueberry Hemp Seed Green Smoothie, an easy way to get kids to drink their greens!

Blueberry Hemp Seed Green Smoothie, an easy way to get kids to drink their greens!

I let my almost 4 year old take the lead when concocting this smoothie and I think he did pretty well!  If given the opportunity he would make smoothies everyday.  I admit, sometimes it’s a hassle and I hate cleaning out the blender, but I can’t say “no” to getting him to drink multiple servings of fruits and vegetables before noon!

This smoothie is so super heathy and loaded with antioxidants, which will boost their little germ fighting immune systems!  It also contains fiber and healthy fats that will fuel them up for the day!

Not too sure if your kid will dig hemp seeds?

Use a different source of healthy fat such as coconut oil, avocado or walnuts.  You can even throw in some chia seeds, which are practically tasteless!

These parfaits would make a wonderful holiday breakfast…or healthy dessert!

I forget how much I love chia seed pudding, it’s so incredibly easy to make and good for you!  I love how one food provides fiber, protein, healthy fat, vitamins and minerals all in one shot!  Plus, the variations are endless!  You can add cacao to make a chocolate treat or top with fruit of your choice such as berries, kiwi or bananas.  You can even try adding granola for extra crunch!

I took my “go-to” chia seed pudding recipe and added cloves and cinnamon for the holidays, which is highly recommended!  The combination of the spice and milk reminded me of a chai latte!

Hot Chocolate Steel Cut Oatmeal ~made in the crockpot while you sleep! Topped with BarkTHINS snacking chocolate!

There is nothing like waking up to a warm bowl of Hot Chocolate Steel Cut Oatmeal topped with a little BarkTHINS to get you out of bed.  Literally, these oats are cooked in the crock pot overnight while you sleep!  I can’t even begin to tell you what a treat it was to have chocolatey oats ready and waiting for me after sleeping a combined total of 3 hours thanks to the kids waking me up all night long…it’s the little things that keep me going!

Talking about the little things that keep me going…chocolate!  Better yet, BarkTHINS snacking chocolate!  I was asked by the folks over at BarkTHINS to test out their chocolate.  Who wouldn’t say yes to that offer?!?!  The whole family gladly sampled the almond and sea salt, pretzel, pumpkin seed and coconut almond varieties.  All were winners here however, I loved the coconut almond best!  BarkTHINS are made with Fair Trade Certified chocolate and non-GMO ingredients.  Also, all products are made with dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate for the extra dose of antioxidants!
